The project consisted of the upgrade and remedial works to apartments and townhouses along with associated common and external areas within the Smithfield Lofts apartment complex.
The main works included the following; fire upgrade works within apartments involving fire sealing around doors, replacing hot press doors and fire rating external ducts and vents; Replacement of existing doors and screen to common stairways and basement areas; Installation of handrails to stairways; Fire stopping tops of party walls from roof and installation of additional AOV’s; Remedial works to planter to stop ingress of water to basement; Crack repairs to brick work at Church Street elevation; Remedial works to glazed balconies; Fire proofing of structural steel in basement areas; Removal and replacement of soffit insulation in basement areas; Upgrade works to electrical & fire alarm installation.
Works completed while development was fully occupied which necessitated constant liaison with tenants and management company to ensure works proceeded smoothly and to programme.
