Whitechurch Stables

This project consisted of extending and refurbishing existing stables building (protected structure). Enabling works required to retain existing steep bank of earth behind structure with soil nails and shotcrete.

The walls of the stables were retained while the existing floor slab in stables was removed and replaced with new concrete floor slab with hardcore, insulation and radon barrier underneath. A new roof with a steel and timber structure was built. The stables was insulated and the external finishes completed with natural materials under the supervision of conservation architect.

All new site services were required with standalone treatment of surface and foul water.
